Visualization: The key to success??

Can you see what would make you happy?

Could you see yourself clear as day enjoying your success?

Can you see where you want to go?

man visualizing where to go

I remember being a young man. I could see and practically taste what I wanted in my mind. It was so vivid I still remember it.

At that age my dream was a Honda Z 50 r dirt bike. My friend had one, we would spend hours riding it around his yard until it was time to head home.

I would walk through a short trail (like kids used to do) to get home. Once I found the little dirt road that headed home I would see myself………

I was on the Z 50 r riding home, I felt it, I smelled it, I wanted it…..

Being so young I didn’t realize that I was working on developing a very strong and desirable trait.

Visualizing what I want in life

Think of this for a moment……How the hell do you expect to attain what you dream of if you can’t see yourself already in possession of it?

I’m going to let you in on one of the biggest secrets anyone will ever tell you…..Ready?

Visualization is one of the most powerful tools a man’s mind can possess

You need to see what you desire in life, now don’t get me wrong here this article is not going down the road of “if you believe it you can achieve it crap, however I will tell you this.

Anything that I absolutely saw in my mind, anything I wanted so bad I could see myself already having it, I have attained……Or I am in the process of attaining.

That is the power of visualizing what you want.

Now don’t get me wrong here you need to believe in what you can achieve, however one needs to be careful to not sit around wondering why what they are believing in isn’t falling on their lap.

That subject is for a different article.

Setting the stage for your mind

Stephen Tyler of Aerosmith has said that he wanted to be the front man of a huge band so bad that he could taste it.

He would watch Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones do his thing, then picture himself doing the same….. so vividly it was real.

I don’t need to tell you how that worked out for him….

You need to visualize where you want to be

The mind is very complex but at the same time simple at it’s core.

If you can see something with so much passion and detail your mind records the image and subconsciously sets the stage for attainment.

Now I’m not saying that visualization is all there is to success, grabbing your own personal success comes down to steps, choices, and purpose.

However, being able to see your end goal very clearly and vividly is a major step towards grabbing your place in whatever it may be you are after.

Start by finding what your true purpose is in life this will set the stage for your mind.

Now obviously it’s difficult to teach someone how to visualize things, however the main point of this article is to get you thinking outside of the bit a little.

Let’s take starting a business for example

You have decided on starting your own business, the thought of ditching your asshole boss is so sweet. You are ready to stop being underpayed and be the head honcho.

You should know the steps needed to attain the position you are after of course.

You have set up a bit and are moving forward with passion and determination.

Along the way however there are some roadblocks that need to be navigated.

Maybe something falls through or another plan needs to be improvised.

It’s hard to stay 100% focused all of the time, especially when there are no results coming for a long time.

This is where visualization will carry you through

Take some time to wander in your own mind, after all it is yours.

There is nothing in this world that you have complete control of other than your own mind.

No one take away your ability to think what you want.

This is why guarding your mind is very important, so important that it will be the main subject in an upcoming article so stay tuned.

Back to business, When times get hard open your mind to yourself and picture yourself in the life you desire.

Do this with real purpose and desire, (don’t worry no one will know)

See yourself as the owner of your business, what’s it like?

See your name on the sign out front, smell the scent of your new car. Look at yourself from a bird’s eye view.

What’s the balance of your business account? $50,000, $100,000, 1,000,000?

See the deposit slip with whatever balance you desire on it, checks with your name on them donating to worthy charity.

How would you feel? Imagine people having good jobs because of you.

How does your wife look at you now? The kids talk about how their dad’s place is where to go to their friend’s parents.

The only limit is the one you place in your own mind

I could go on and on but I think you get the point here.

Sure maybe we can go a little overboard in our daydream vision land; but who gives a shit?

It’s yours, the more you envision success the more successful you will be.

This does not replace the core fundamentals needed like hard ass work, but make no mistake this is a nice little trick to have up your sleeve.

You must see what it is you are after before you can go after it 100%

Give this visualization thing a shot, you may be shocked by what comes out of it.

Wrapping up

Understand that attaining any worthwhile thing in life takes work and discipline.

There are so many things to do and getting overwhelmed is a real demon that many people face on their journey.

Giving up after a while is the next step.

I don’t want this for you.

See yourself kicking ass when you start to feel swamped down by your dream.

Success is the end result of a lot of good choices and decisions.

It’s a hard thing to grasp but remember………

If you can see it, taste it, smell it, grab it in your own mind…………..

You are halfway there to having it

As for me? I’m gonna keep visualizing my version of success when I need a boost.

By the way that Honda ended up mine, I rode up that dirt road exactly like I saw in my mind years before.

Although the goals in life have gotten larger and harder to get……..

I’ll always be riding that Z 50 R up the road to my success.
